I always hear people complaining that they can't find a good job or that they can't find their dream job. I just hired a new intern and I'll tell you the story of how he started working with us. First he contacted me through email asking for an internship. I didn't respond at first, but because he was so persistent I gave him a shot to come to New York for the boot camp to see if we could work together. He was all right so I gave him some assignments to do for me remotely from his place. He ended up moving to Brooklyn, sleeping on the floor in a cramped one bedroom apartment with three to four people in it. He had no Wi-Fi so he would go to the local coffee shop to work often late nights and bums would be hovering over him to ask for change and distract him from working. For money he would drive around escorts in bad neighborhoods and sell waters on the streets of Brooklyn. That was all just for a chance to work with the High Life Crew!
So the question I have for you when you start complaining about not having a job. Do you want it bad enough? Are you willing to put in the effort? Are you willing to move to a new city, live in poverty, sleep on the floor in a cramped one bedroom apartment with no Air Conditioning or Wi-Fi, take your lab top to late night coffee shops filled with bums to work, sell waters on the streets of Brooklyn and drive escorts to bad neighborhoods, just for the chance that you might get to work a job.....for free?
That's what I am talking about. If you want it bad enough, you can achieve anything. No excuses.
