I’ve been getting this question a lot recently.
The people of earth ask “Hey Mr. Carter, how do you get up at the crack of dawn, get your training in, work all day, AND still get 8-9 hours of sleep every single night?”
Good question motherf**ker. It’s easier than it sounds. In fact, the key to waking up before everyone else and still getting sufficient rest is the same key to getting a six pack, godly biceps, and doubling your energy levels. The key is..
Putting the right food in your body at the right times throughout the day.
You see, certain foods have been scientifically proven to give you massive energy while simultaneously increasing your capacity to create melatonin (the hormone responsible for sleep). In contrast, other foods have been proven to make you lethargic (plus slow down your metabolism) and even interfere with your sleep. WebMD has a great article about these studies here.
I always say you can’t out train a bad diet The same applies for sleep. Sure, you can get in your bed by 8:30 pm with the goal of falling asleep by 9, but if you’ve been eating sh*t all day that messes up your hormones, so you’ll continue to toss and turn for hours which will defeat any chance you have of getting a good night’s rest and waking up early.
Personally, I sleep like a damn baby everytime I get to bed because I’ve been a nutritionist for over 15 years and know exactly what the human body needs each and every day for maximum energy and efficiency. This is one of the main reasons my company offers custom meal plans, as I wanted to use the knowledge I’ve accumulated to help as many people as possible improve their health, attain their dream physiques and still get enough sleep each night.
If you’d like to improve your eating habits so you can get more ripped, have more energy and get better sleep so you can conquer each day like a boss, head on over to:
All the best,
Captain Brandon Carter
